The Ecoregion Julian Alps has been further consolidated among sustainable regions in Europe

The Europarc Federation, which connects protected areas in Europe with the aim of improving protected area management through international cooperation and exchange of experience, has extended the charter for sustainable tourism and the certificate for cross-border cooperation for Transbaundary Ecoregion Julian Alps, formed by the Triglav National Park together with the Julian Alps Biosphere Reserve and the Julian Prealps Nature Park until 2024.

As stated in the justification of the Europarc Federation, the neighboring parks cooperate very well in the management of the transbaundary Ecoregion and, in cooperation with stakeholders, successfully carry out many joint activities as well as the annual forum on sustainable tourism. Europarc also made some recommendations for the successful continuation of the work. Sustainable visit management is highlighted, which must be based on quality and values and not just on the number of visitors.
