In May this year, the Director of the TNP, Dr Tit Potočnik, signed a twinning agreement with the President of the Mercantouriz National Park of France, Charles Ange Ginesy, in Bled. As stated in the signed document, the purpose of the twinning partnership is to promote international cooperation and provide support for the mutual benefit of both parks, as well as to enrich the experience and training opportunities of staff through international cooperation projects.
The park is the second French protected area with which our only national park has signed a cooperation agreement. In 1996, a tripartite agreement was signed between Triglav National Park, the Austrian High Tauern National Park and the French National Park Les Ecrins.
