The Mrzli studenec nature trail passes through dense spruce forests, past grasslands, along the remains of the First World War (the Sava Line of Defence) to the Bled peat bog and Grajska planina. It is a circular route of 3,5 kilometres, and along the way you can read more on information boards about fungi in Pokljuka, forest rejuvenation, the Sava Defence Line, the forests of Pokljuka and the majestic bird of Slovenian mountains, Alpine diary farming and peat bogs.

The trail is located on Pokljuka - a bowl-shaped karst plateau covered with woods and forests. It is the largest plateau in Julian Alps. Its glacial transformation and mountain economy give it a purely Alpine appearance. Numerous archaeological sites testify to the rich past of the plateau.

The sensitivity of the mountain world requires a respectful visitor. Walk the marked trails and make an important contribution to the preservation of the habitat of western capercaillie, grouse and peat bogs!
