Educational activities

... to make your visit to nature not only enjoyable, but also educational.

We learn most about nature by exploring it. In the hope that every child will visit the area of the only national park in Slovenia at least once, and with the idea that only genuine contact with nature leads to responsible behaviour towards nature and people in adulthood, the staff of the Environmental Education area have prepared various activities for children, young people and the young at heart.

Education about nature and cultural heritage is a major part of the mission of the Triglav National Park.

The free online Triglav Treasury classroom offers more than 400 interesting and interactive articles divided into 17 different themes, allowing you to explore the park from the comfort of your own chair, or to prepare material for homework, classroom work or field preparation.

The Programmes for Schools tab presents educational workshops suitable for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. The content and duration are adapted to the age level, curriculum and time available for the group.

Access to School Programmes

Triglav National Park would like children to visit the National Park at least once during their school years.

To this end, we have developed a variety of programmes that are linked to the curriculum and allow children to experience nature in an authentic way. In addition to nature itself, pupils also learn about the cultural heritage and the sustainable life of the people in the Triglav region.

The educational workshops are suitable for kindergartens and primary and secondary schools. The content and duration are adapted to the age level, the curriculum and the time available for the group.

Workshops take place both in our info centres (in Bled, Bohinj and Trenta) with an introductory presentation of the park, a film screening and an introduction to the extraordinary biodiversity of the park area, as well as in the field, and we can also visit you at your school. We also work with some of our partners in the area to organise programmes for schools, so in addition to our workshop, we can help you organise a full day of science, social studies or sports.
